Los Angeles Power Women 2014

Today, we bring you the first installment of our seven-part Power Woman series profiling the 50 most influential women in LA commercial real estate. Then join Bisnow and partner Allen Matkins on Nov. 12 for a cocktail awards reception to honor them at the Hotel Casa del Mar, 6 – 8pm.

Dani Evanson

Co-Owner & Managing Director, RMA

RMA Real Estate Investment & Advisory Services’ Dani Evanson grew up learning about commercial real estate at the kitchen table; her parents Marty and Carol own investment properties. This early exposure “created a sense of comfort and familiarity with real estate investing.” A licensed CPA, CMA, and broker, Dani parlayed young enthusiasm into a 17-year investment career. At RMA, she specializes in fundraising and sourcing real estate investments.

Her focus: helping inexperienced real estate investors build diversified portfolios. Family (husband Ken McLaughlin and children Xander and Kiya, 6 and 5) comes first, but Dani still finds room for outdoor exercise and traveling (above, she’s at an elephant orphanage in Nairobi). She also mentors.

Advice: “I grew up in a progressive environment where I wasn’t constrained by traditional roles for women in business. I was told that there are glass ceilings, but if I stay ambitious and passionate about my career, then the level of success I can achieve is limitless.”
